Officials Conduct Major Disaster Drill In Miami
First responders, Miami police, the FBI and Homeland Security officials are conducting a major disaster drill on Tuesday in downtown Miami.

Authorities are training for several incidents at once in Bicentennial Park. The simulation will include a mock contamination, then several explosions and a third mock disaster.
Authorities must respond to the first event and then the subsequent explosions. The commanders will test their skills in dealing with the mock contamination first and keeping the first responders safe during the subsequent ones, as well as helping "victims."
Miami Police Department public information Officer Delrish Moss called the exercises very necessary.
"It's good, because the better you train, the more you're prepared when the real situation occurs," Moss said. "How you train is very important, because you revert to that training when the heat is on."
About 300 volunteers are helping out during the drill. The FBI and Homeland Security officials are observing to see how the local agencies deal with the mock disasters.
